Best is relative. Since fire has long casting times and recharges, most fire eles like a 20/20 HCT/HSR and it is only 5k + mats from the crafter that makes them in Factions.

Is there anything better than that?

Again, good, better and best are relative. What you might like the best may not be what someone else likes the best.

Here are two examples:

and don't forget, if you're using a wand you've also got your offhand item to consider as well

Personally, I'd say this is the best Fire Wand.

I farmed it in Nightfall. It has a maximum of 20/20 on Fire Magic spells...and if your a nuker, fire magic is all you'll really be using.

Also better than Rago's, as Rago's is only 20/10.

And plus I think it's miles better than any of the two golds that were previously posted!

Regardless of your opinion, the two golds above are near perfect and perfect in their mods. Granted they are not 20/20 to Fire. They do have other useful (and perfect) mods. It's truly up to the caster to choose what they prefer.

You can craft a wand with 20/20 in Factions. No need to farm it or buy it as a green, especially a new NF one that will be pricey.

You can craft this set for 10k plus the materials shown at the crafters located in Vasburg Armory or Leviathan Pits. If you don't have Factions, you can typically pay a player to craft them for you paying a nominal fee for their time. This is much less expenseve than buying the 2 greens the previous posters listed.

I see your points.

But, with me being me, I'd rather have a green/gold over a crafters weapon. It's not to some people, but skin is important. I'd rather have a nice and rare skin as well...

Please post a pic of Hajkor's wand as I haven't seen that skin and Wiki is down at the moment.

IMO, Rago's Staff (20/20) is far better:

I just made a staff with an Insightful head, enchantment wrapping and the Lotus staff collector skin from Factions. I think it's much prettier than Rago's.

For a fire nuker?

Fire nukers do not really need the +20% enchantments. They also do not need the +20% Damage. So the useful stuff that this staff gives a fire nuker is:

+15 Energy
20% HCT
20% HSR

This is not as good as the 2 collectors items above which give you:

+12 Energy
36% HCT
36% HSR
4% Quarter casting time
4% Quarter skill recharge.

So you trade off 3 points of energy and get essentially double the HCT/HSR by taking the wand/focus item. The staff is only better if you are not running a pure fire nuker. But maybe some hybrid that actually uses enchantments.

I run fire attunement and aura of restoration and (since it's my only elite at the moment because I "rerolled" my ele to have better hair) master of magic. Three enchantments. For me, the modded Lotus staff (which is the equivalent of the Rago's) is more useful.

(The +20% damage is because the owner customized it. It's not an inherent feature.)

Ya.. I use three enchantments as well. Fire Attunement, Elemental Attunement, and Aura Of Restoration. So I think Rago's is pretty decent.

For most builds I'd much rather have half recharge time than any other mod.

And half casting time is a good one too.

Besides, who says you can only carry one weapon? Rago's is nice before the fight, when you're putting your enchantments up. A Defensive Staff of Defense has its moments (and/or a Hale Staff of Fortitude). And for emergencies one might carry a +energy/-recharge set.

That said, it's tough to switch between more than two weapon sets in any one fight.

I prefer to use a wand from a collector in Bukdek Byway (I think) and the kindlerock.

From them I get:
Wand - 20% HCT, +5energy^50
Kindlerock - 20% HSR, 20% chance of +1 Fire magic

The 20/20 - 20/20 crafter set would suit your needs best.

There is no shame is using crafter items, my casters used them a lot of the time and I had a hell of a lot of disposable cash..

or a 15/-1 10% HSR wand with a AR +5^50 with either +30hp or an additional HSR 10%.

or a 5^50 wand 10% hsr and a 10/10 focus

or a 20/20 staff or a 20/10 staff
